Mom, can we have this for dinner tomorrow night too?

I think any mother would love to hear this question asked. It made my day, I only wish I would have come up with this recipe on my own. But on the other hand I wouldn't have the success of our recipe group to thank or Melinda to thank for providing this yummy recipe. I think every one of my kids enjoyed this dinner, that is a big compliment in my book. (especially when you have 2 very picky eaters in my house) So, thank you Melinda for sharing!!

Kids Favorite Alfredo

Ingredients:
Sauce:
1/2 c. butter
2 Tbsp. flour
1 c. milk
3/4 c. parmesan cheese
garlic salt

boneless, skinless, chicken breasts
salt
garlic salt
dried or fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
fettuccine noodles, cooked al dente

Directions:
Cut chicken up into strips or bite sized pieces. Place in frying pan with a little water and about 1 tbsp. butter if you want. Season with garlic salt, parsely, and black pepper and cook until done over medium heat. Keep adding tiny bits of water if it seems like the chicken is drying out. While the chicken is cooking start boiling the pasta. To make the sauce, melt the butter in a sauce pan. Add the four and mix it into the butter well and let it cook until golden brown. Add the milk and cook while stirring until it thickens. Turn off the heat and add the parmesan cheese. Add about 2 tsp. garlic salt. Serve sauce over the noodles with the chicken on top.

Melinda also changes things up a bit by,

Chicken and broccoli - penne noodles for this. Cut up broccoli in the water with noodles for the last minute. Mix noodles, broccoli, browned chicken pieces and sauce.

Noodles, bacon and peas - farfalle pasta for this. Cook bacon separately and crumble it up. Pour frozen peas in with the noodles for the minute. Then mix bacon, peas, noodles and sauce.

I am telling you your kids will love it, and it's easy!

Enjoy

I'm going to have to try this soon! We're always looking for something everyone will eat.
