Happy Anniversary to my one and only! It is kind of hard to celebrate our anniversary seeing how it is so close to Christmas but, this year we were lucky. We got to sneak away for one night (thanks to my mom) and go the beautiful Lake Las Vegas.
It was so peaceful and calm and breathtaking. Mike and I were able to go to the spa and both get a massage and a facial. We also walked around the shops and watched the ice skaters on the lake. Had a nice quiet dinner and were able to hear each other think.Mike and I met the summer of 89. We were life guards at Wet n Wild that summer. He just graduated from high school and I was getting ready to start my senior year. Mike joined the Navy and went in that August. We wrote letters and missed each other terribly. After a few years of letter writing and many visits home, Mike asked me to marry him. We had decided to get married right away. When I say right away I mean we were engaged Christmas Eve and married on the 26th of December that same year. We went down to the justice of the peace somewhere downtown and tied the knot!! I have no pictures and none of my family or friends were there it was totally spontaneous and probably crazy but, I don't regret any part it. We have had our ups and downs. We have had 6 wonderful and healthy kids that I could not be more proud of. And especially we have had each other to fall back on. I am so grateful to have Mike as my husband. He is my rock the one I can always fall back on when times are tough. I look forward spending eternity with him. Happy Anniversary! Love Ya

Congrats on 17 years together! Neither of you look old enough to be married for that long! What a great mom to watch your kids so you could get away! I will always remember when you were sealed in the temple... I'm glad I was able to be there for that!
